Dress Like a Cowgirl - Easy Tips For a Fun Staycation

You may not have the time or resources to head out to the country for a relaxing getaway, but you can bring a little country home; by dressing like a cowgirl and enjoying a few popular cowgirl past times. Here are a few ideas to get you going on your plans for a great vacation at home.

Besides being a great change of pace, staycations save you money by eliminating the high costs normally associated with travel. You won't need to pay for a hotel room, expensive restaurants, pricey entertainment or even fuel for your car. The suggestions in this article focus on easy to obtain items to take you away to the country without making any travel plans.

Dressing like a cowgirl is lots of fun and the great news is that you don't need to spend a fortune at a western store buying clothing that you're not planning to wear very often. There are cowgirl costumes available online, and with a click of your mouse they can be on their way to your home. Whether you want a full head to toe western makeover, or would be happy with some cowboy hats and maybe a toy pistol or two, there are lots of options to fit every budget. As a bonus, your cowgirl costume will be great for Halloween.

Once your cowgirl costume is on its way, get your hands on some country music. If you prefer something more modern with a bit of a rock beat, get some Taylor Swift or Faith Hill songs cued up. For a more traditional sound, try George Strait or Johnny Cash. Maybe you're an undiscovered Garth Brooks fan. Anyway, give some of these tunes a try; hopefully the "take it easy" vibe will rub off on you.

Finally, partake in some western style grub and entertainment. Maybe cook up some country style ribs or a thick beef stew. Make some biscuits, have some corn on the cob. Visit the local video store and rent some classic western movies. Or get a how to video and learn to country line dance. If you can swing it, roast some marshmallows. (A gas stove works, and I've even heard you can use your toaster.)

Everyone can afford a vacation, if you keep an open mind about what it means to get away for awhile. Sometimes a great escape happens just by avoiding your usual routine. Hopefully now that you see how easy it is to get started, you'll be inspired to plan your own staycation. Giddy-up!
