If you are planning on traveling independently in Europe, read my tips to make sure you have a great trip.
A: Try not to see too.
You may end up actually seeing very little. I think it's better to see more of fewer countries / regions and see them properly. You may not want to stay in one place for the entire trip. However, if you choose carefully it may be possible to do multi-day hikes from a central location. If you decide to tour, consider spendingat least two nights in some of your goals. It can be very tiring her to be moving every day, packing and unpacking.
Two: Decide on mode of transport.
Driving offers more flexibility, but can sometimes be daunting and is not recommended if you want to visit, especially cities. You can choose to take your car if you live in Europe. When you fly, you can rent a car. Beware of additional costs for additional drivers, insurance excesses, airport taxes, fees, etc. outside of opening hoursI always reserve a car through a UK company, with no deductible. If you want a low-cost flight only book direct. If you book two let journey, the budget airlines will not help, because only the transport of a point to point service. Public transport is good enough in many parts of Europe. There are also several budget airlines use between countries eg Ryanair and Easyjet can.
Three: Make sure the security of tenure.
Use a fanny pack, a safe deposit box, etc. Do notAll your money / cards in a purse or wallet. If you lose you in difficulties. This happened to me when I was in Milan: I was traveling alone and had no money. My credit card company had to transfer me, but it took 24 hours! I had the front desk to borrow from 10 € Hotel. Make sure travel insurance and if an incident report obtained a written consent of the local police station to enable a claim to do.
Four: Try to learn at least a few words ofLanguage.
This is much appreciated. My French is what might be school girls (25 years ago) to describe, but I try, when in France. I often answer in English, but at least I tried. I always apologize if I do not speak the language. I do not accept that the person I'm talking about having to speak English, ask them if they speak English language. I like to do a Scottish accent, I try to slowly and clearly than usual to speak, and certainly not collectedVoice.
Five: Do not be structured.
Would have to go around for some time only, enjoy a relaxing lunch. You have to plan a route, or you can just lose a lot of time, but not fixed in stone! Show the ability to be spontaneous.
Six: Do not stick just tourist traps.
to try to visit some authentic local restaurants, markets, villages, etc. where people meet on site, rather than other tourists. Certainly a part ofReason to go abroad for at least a little 'experience in local taste, not just spend time with other tourists.
Seven: Book your accommodation in advance.
This may mean that you missed, you meet a charming during your travels, (you can always stay there on your journey of another kind). However, that means you're not precious time from hotel to hotel trying to find enough space to get ahead with your nextTarget for the accommodation. I'm not even convinced that will save public money last minute.
